I am a West Country based filmmaker who specialises in Natural History.
I have spent 15+ years working in Factual TV and Film, making series and features for Disney, Netflix, BBC and others, telling stories about the natural world: from animal behaviour to human endeavour; the exploration of the planet's last frontiers, to the crucial science of saving it.

Originally studying fine art film and photography, and then conservation biology and ecology, my work combines the two; creative image making and story telling about wild things and wild places.
​
I have particular expertise and experience in expeditionary and underwater filmmaking and a passion for finding emotional character driven narratives in even the driest settings.
I am skilled at engaging widely diverse stakeholders, building trusted relationships with partners, talent and production teams and managing complex projects from inception to delivery.

Taking dry science and turning it into compelling storytelling is a skill I teach at university level, mentor and consultant on. Where, when, how, and with who to do it... I work with you to research, plan, budget, execute and deliver.

Having produced BBC's 'Planet' brand and other David Attenborough series, the stories I've told have reached hundreds of millions worldwide. The impact a good story can have can revolutionise any subject.

As a producer I'm a highly experienced project manager, working internationally and concurrently across assets. As a director I'm a creative leader; formulating editorial ambition, creatively writing, expertly communicating and galvanising a team and diverse stakeholders behind a singular goal.

Under my care I've taken A-list talent to the most challenging places on earth from arctic to antarctic, by air, sea and land.
